2022.10.22
Guangzhou Light Industry Group Chairman Zeng Leads Inspection at Canton Fair Site
October 18, 2022
On the morning of October 18, the fourth day of the 132nd Canton Fair, Zeng Chenxiang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangzhou Light Industry Group, along with Lin Hu, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, and General Manager, visited the live-streaming studio of Guangzhou Light Industrial Products Import & Export Co., Ltd. (Light I/E) for an inspection.
Chairman Zeng Chenxiang emphasized that the Cloud Canton Fair has been held for six consecutive sessions, and online promotion and transactions represent a future trend. Light I/E must strategize on leveraging this platform to seek new development opportunities. He noted that as a "full-attendance participant" of the Canton Fair, Light I/E should proactively plan ahead, align with the trends of the digital economy and online exhibitions, foster innovative thinking to create new export highlights, and actively engage with both existing and new clients to identify breakthroughs in stabilizing foreign trade.
At this session, Light I/E exhibited over 2,000 products across 18 exhibition zones, including kitchenware, furniture, toys, and machinery, with a product renewal rate of 46%. The Chemical Products and Personal Care Products exhibition zones made their debut.
New Zones, Categories, and Innovations
The newly launched Chemical Products zone focused on high-quality development in the chemical sector, actively exploring a third export channel. Products such as compound fertilizers, high-end water-soluble fertilizers, and granular sulfur made their debut, attracting significant attention from buyers and pioneering "cloud-based expansion" for bulk commodities. The Personal Care Products zone introduced a new line of cosmetic tools with enhanced waterproof features, lightweight designs, transparent visibility, and stylish aesthetics, drawing extensive inquiries from clients.
Traditional Zones with Market-Driven Breakthroughs
The Bicycle zone aligned with market trends by launching children’s bicycle helmets with built-in lights meeting CPSC standards and a fashionable riding series, infusing the TITAN brand with modern appeal. The Kitchenware (GALA) zone embraced eco-friendly trends, shifting from all-stainless-steel designs to biodegradable wooden products. The combination of stainless steel, plastic, and wood materials, paired with black accents, created a natural yet chic style.
Amid the rise of digital trade as a new engine for global economic growth, Light I/E’s team actively leveraged the online Canton Fair platform to drive innovation in foreign trade development.
